Spanish II 06-05-08

  • Maestra Range projected pictures on the document camera and students wrote a sentence for each picture.
  • We reviewed the homework in the green Workbook Packet 4A (p.79) and the yellow Workbook Packet 4B (p.85 & 86).
  • We read about reciprocal actions and watched the GramActiva. The class brainstormed verbs that express reciprocal actions and then we practiced using these verbs in pairs by talking about what we do with our friends. We then looked at a picture of a wedding with many unruly guests. Pairs of students discussed what the people were doing in the picture, using the imperfect tense and reciprocal action verbs.
  • Students read about pets in Latin America (las mascotas, p.191) and we discussed the tendency for Latin American pets to be more active and useful participants instead of “members of the family” as pets are often considered in the U.S.
  • In 2nd period we learned some rhymes popular among Spanish-speaking children.
  • In 4th period, we read about wedding traditions in Latin America and discussed what we know about different marriage customs.
