Spanish II 06-09-08

  • Students worked on Exercise A in the Preterite and Imperfect Compared packet while Maestra Range checked homework. We discussed the differences between the two tenses in pairs and as a class. Students helped one another identify the time indicators in Exercise A.
  • We reviewed the homework assignments and talked about when and why the imperfect and preterite should be used.
  • Maestra Range showed the timeline of her life that she made using the preterite to represent events that took place at a particular moment in time, and using the imperfect for things that she did repeatedly or over a long period of time. The class brainstormed different verbs to represent occurrences in their own lives, and students all made their own time lines. In 2nd period, pairs of students shared their timelines with one another. We color-coded the imperfect (green) and preterite (red) tenses and put the timelines up on the wall.
  • In 2nd period, Maestra Range passed out the “A Patinar” handout and students read in pairs to each other about inline skates.
