Spanish II 05-09-08

  • Maestra Thurber-Brown is at a conference, so Maestra Range and Maestra Fowler taught class.
  • Maestra Range set up classroom objects as props and used prepositions to describe where they were (under the chair, next to the eraser, in the bottle). She then asked students where various items were, and they answered.
  • We reviewed the Hidden Ghosts sentences, and students wrote their sentences on the white board and on the small white boards so we could correct them as a class.
  • We practiced our prepositions TPR rhyme.
  • Students paired up with a partner to do an activity using prepositions. Using the room they drew with furniture in it last night as homework, students asked each other where certain items were and tried to draw their partner’s room.
  • Maestra Range passed out a pink packet explaining the preterite irregular verbs. We reviewed it as a class and prepared to do Exercise A for homework.
  • With a partner, students practiced the preterite tense by asking each other questions about what they did yesterday.
  • In 2nd period, we read an interesting cultural note from Schaum’s Spanish Vocabulary about the different words used for restroom in different Latin American countries.
  • We reviewed the homework assignment, worksheet 3A-5 to practice using direct object pronouns.
  • · We played BINGO using the irregular preterite verbs.
