Español IV 05-06-08

· Since the assembly schedule made class very short last week, many people were unable to complete the essay on the 2B Exam. Students completed the Exam 2B today, and as they finished, joined with a partner to read the article about the International Declaration of Human Rights on page 79. Then partners completed Act. 3-1 on p.81 together, listing the rights that either protect people from harm or provide certain guarantees. We discussed these rights as a class.

· Maestra Range checked the homework and passed out some background information on the Dirty War in Argentina. We talked about how the war began and the atrocities and suffering involved. Students will read the rest of the background information in preparation for viewing the movie tomorrow.

· Students took turns reading p. 83 of the text to learn more about using the subjunctive tense with impersonal expressions such as “it’s important… it’s horrible… it’s certain…,” etc.
