· Today we celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a Cultural/Food Day. We made quesadillas and enjoyed Maestra Thurber-Brown’s mole poblano (chicken mole), Maestra Range’s Mexican rice, and many delicious drinks, snacks and foods that students brought in. Thank you to everyone!

· Students filled out a new sheet for partners, using the human rights vocabulary we will be studying in upcoming weeks.

· We learned about Cinco de Mayo, watched a DVD of excellent dance performances from Mexico, and Linda Ronstadt’s performance with a Mexican mariachi band.

Tarea:

1. Research Argentina and the Dirty War using your yellow handout.

2. Complete the blue vocabulary handout.

3. Work on your project which is due May 12.

4. Bring in your permission slip for watching the movie on Wednesday.
