Spanish II 04-24-08

Español II 24 de abril de 2008

  • First, Maestra Range announced that Lesson 2B exam will be on TUESDAY, April 29th.
  • Then students translated sentences from English into Spanish using the vocabulary and preterite tenses we have been learning.
  • We listened to Tish Hinajosa’s beautiful love song, “Aquella Noche” which uses some of the words we have been learning. In Spanish, the words aquellos/aquellas/aquel/aquella can refer to either location or time. “Aquella” can mean that one way over there, or it can mean something way back in the past.
  • We read P.120 from the textbook about “La Parranda” in Latin America. In pairs and small groups, we compared parrandas to the parties we usually have here in the United States. Students created Venn Diagrams to explain the differences in types of music, how long the parties last, who attends the parties and how people dance.
  • We reviewed the homework crossword puzzle and worksheet, and looked over tonight’s homework to make sure everyone knows how to complete it.
  • We played BINGO using preterite verbs and several people got 5 in a row!
