Español IV 21 de abril de 2008
Today was a short day due to the elections assembly.
Students practiced their reading strategies using authentic student teaching sheets Maestra Thurber-Brown bought in
The class was organized in concentric circles (inside/outside circles) with various stations of four desks. Every 7 minutes the students rotated to the next seat in the circle (2 seats per station).
At each station the students (1) opened the envelope containing laminated images, titles and descriptions, (2) matched the images with the titles, (3) read the descriptions to make sure they had matched the images correctly with the titles, (4) wrote down new key vocabulary and (5) wrote and answered questions about the material. Students came up with some intriguing questions about natural disasters, the environment, sea life and ecology in general.
