Español III el 21 de marzo de 2012

I was out today doing the oral testing for some of the Spanish IB students. Here's an overview of the work I left with the substitute:

1. Warm-up: (A) Wrote out practice sentences, filling in the needed word then called on students to supply the best word.

(B) White handout – More vocabulary review: Students quiz their seat-partner to see if s/he knows the word and then they fill-in the meanings.

2. Homework corrections: a Blue handout. You call on students to read the sentences as answered reveaedunder the document camera on the “Clave”.

3. Textbook pages 68-69: A la primera vista. This is the introduction for our Fine Arts unit. NEW vocabulary lists

  • Reading/Listening comprehension for page 68.
  • Activity 1 = Students numbered a paper 1-6 and indicated Cierta o Falsa
  • Read/Listen page 69.
  • Act. 2 – Students point to the item on pg. 69 being discussed.

4. Text page 72 “Manos a la obra” –Act. 6 – Read/Write – Students completed the definition and then did Act. 7 – Partner conversation

5. Gramática – page 72. Reviewed the uses of the Preterite versus the Imperfect using the box at the top of the page, including the ¿Recuerdas? at the upper Right-Hand corner. We’ve gone over this a lot, so this should just be a quick refresher.

Activity 14 – Students wrote out the whole sentence, selecting the best answer, then reviewed as a whole class.

Collect their in-class written work from today.

6.Tarea: Workbook pages 23 & 25 (No page 24).
