Spanish II 05-13-08

· Maestra Range checked in the homework while students filled out their verb grids with the preterite conjugations of 11 more regular and irregular verbs.

· As a last minute practice before the quiz, we sang our “10 Little Preterites” song to help remember the irregular preterite conjugations.

· Students took the Quiz on preterite conjugations of regular and irregular verbs.

· We reviewed the homework and students took turns sharing their answers with the class.

· Maestra Range showed several U-tube videos of different open air markets in Latin America, including Otavalo market in Ecuador, Chichicastenango in Guatemala, Tonala market in Mexico, La Boqueria in Spain and a market in Oaxaca. Students identified fruits and vegetables and other items for sale, and listened to the sounds of the markets.

· In 2nd period, students got into pairs and read the textbook p.148 about Open Air Markets aloud to one another and then worked together to write a mini-skit. Each group presented their dialogue in front of the class of a buyer and a seller at a market.

· In 4th period, Maestra Range explained the homework, answered questions about the test tomorrow, and reviewed direct objects and how to use them. We did not have enough time to read p.148 about Open Air Markets, so students should read the article at home, as there are some test questions regarding this subject.
