Los mapas: Practicing identifying countries in the Americas from maps without names (Mexico, Central, Carribean, South America)and their corresponding capital cities. We also practiced using the website of map tests included in yesterday's blog post.

Practiced vocabulary by correcting last night's homework (workbook pages 7 & the top of 8). Then we did the bottom of page 8 together. Because it was talking about José Martí we listened to, and sang, the song Guantanamera based on his very famous poem we read about yesterday on page 25.

Introduced AFFIRMATIVE and NEGATIVE words, modeling "algo" and "nada" by hiding a marble in one of my hands and students indicating which one would have "algo" or "nada" inside. Then we referred to page 31 and went through the meanings of all of those listed in the gold box AS WELL as explaining all of the forms of "alguno" and "ninguno"

PRESENTACION: Los Amigos de las Américas: An immersion and community service program for teens - like "Teenage Peace Corps". Three THS students who participated last summer shared a video, their photos and lots of stories.
TRIVIA: What countries did these students stay in last summer?

Tarea:
1. MAP Test tomorrow: countries and capitals of the Spanish-speaking world
2. Workbook pages 10 & 11
