1. Fondo cultural, pg 31: los cafés - and extra classroom discussion.

2. ANUNCIOS:
(A) Vocabulary Quiz tomorrow - a selection from the 1A vocabulary: Be ready to ACCURATELY SPELL the SPANISH word from the ENGLISH equivalent.
(B) 1A Lesson Exam - on Wednesday (50 points): Listening and Reading comprehension, Vocabulary in context, Me/te gusta; No me gusta (nada); me gusta también; No me gusta tampoco; Me gusta --- y ----; No me gusta ni --- ni ---; Making verbs negative; Basic conversation about likes/dislikes; Fondos culturales - see NOTES from the lesson (los cafés, los instrumentos, los bailes: El merengue, El flamenco, El tango, La salsa, La cumbia - KNOW where these dances are from and the information from today's notes about them.)

3. Los cognados - Cognates are words that look similar AND have similar meanings between Spanish and English. We did a few exercises using these. See page 34. We practiced using these to help us READ - Fondo Cultural: El merengue - page 34.

4. We talked about some typical percussion instruments to Latino music and I shared mine: el güiro, los claves, las maracas, los castañuelos - and I showed pictures of others. See page 34.

5. Page 35: We read about different dance styles around the Spanish-speaking world, and listened to music for these dances = KNOW this information for the test.

6. Workbook page 17 (1-7) -Homework correction:Infinitives ending with -Ar, -Er, -Ir: we also practiced their meanings.

Tarea:
1. Handout: Communicative Activity 1A-2 - Prepare this Battleship-style game to be ready to play for class tomorrow.
From the list of infinitives (your vocabulary for this lesson) Select FIVE of them you LIKE to do and write sentences about them using, Me gusta under JUEGO UNO. For JUEGO DOS - select FIVE activities from the list of infinitives that you DO NOT LIKE to do, and write them up each in its own sentence using No me gusta.
