  • Read interview in textbook with environmental scientist Sr. Salvador, p. 45 and completed comprehension exercise 1, while homework was checked in.
  • Chose new oral partners: appointment log handout.
  • With 7am appointment, students read the interview aloud and verified their answers on Ex. 1, p. 47.
  • Debriefed article as a class.
  • Reviewed the study points over the uses of ser, estar, haber and tener, expressing “to be” in English. See pages 49 – 52.
  • Activity 2-8 “ProIguana”: complete with correct form of ser/estar/haber.
  • Corrected Activity 2-8.

Tarea:

    1. Activity 2-9, p. 52: Describe a famous person using lots of details that include the use of ser/estar/tener/haber for “to be.” Do not include the person’s name so we can guess it in class tomorrow.
    2. Exercise 2-11, p.53: ¿Dónde & Cómo? Explain where these places are, what they are like, and why they are in the news, using estar/ser/tener/haber.
    3. Note: no verb study tonight.
    4. Reminder: names quiz on Thursday!
