• Reviewed corrections from yesterday’s test while Mrs. Range (student teacher) checked in this week’s homework.
• Partners compared their vocabulary categories, and some drilled new words with one another until all were finished ☺.
• Introduced the topic for our new lesson – Unit 2-A: Ecology.
• “K.W.L” chart (what I Know, what I Want to know, after we’ll do…what I Learned).
• Brainstormed vocabulary for subcategories for talking about the environment: Geographical Features, Flora and Fauna, Natural Resources, Phenomena of Nature, Environmental solutions.
• I shared (distributed) my own version of the vocabulary, in categories that make sense to me, as well as some additional items for the groups.
• Played vocabulary games using the QUIA site I created with these new words. Students could copy this URL from the board. Here it is:
