1. Class procedures
- Speaking Spanish, students used their 5 questions to quiz each other about the course expectations
- I clarified with some of my own questions.
- Shared the "systems" set-up around the classroom - homework bulletin board, where to turn-in papers, sign-in/out procedures, etc.
2. Partner Orals
- Study Buddies/Compañeros de estudios - Exchanged names and phone numbers, in Spanish,with 3 other people. I checked off homework while the students were circulating.
- Let's get to know each other - conversation with seat partner (green handout)
- We began presenting shortened versions of the partner conversation in front of the class. We'll continue this during next week.
Tarea:
1. Make your own vocabulary list the from the Saludos y presentaciones box on page 5.
2. Using the words from PAGE 4 - Write definitions in Spanish for 10 items.
Example: Derecho = Es la área de concentración para una persona que quiere ser abogado.
See Exercise P-10 on page 7 for more examples - except that you won't do a "matching exercise".
