Español II el 12 de mayo de 2011

Vocabulary practice in context:
Activity 4, page 134 (writing) and then Activity 5 - talking with a partner about what we had written. Next, we reviewed the conversations as a whole class.

Direct Objects and their Pronouns:

First I demonstrated how these work by using props in the classroom while speaking Spanish. Students quickly picked up the pattern and then we practiced more together. Next we watched the Gram Activa DVD and did their "practice quiz". See the "Gramática" box on text page 138.

Irregular Preterit Verbs:

We also watched this "Gram Activa" and did this practice quiz, too. We then corrected our homework: Verb grid and Lotería game sheet. Next we played the Lotería (Bingo) game practicing conjugation these irregular past-tense verbs. SAVE your game sheet in case we get to play some more.

I distributed Progress Reports and explained about writing a goal BEFORE asking your parent(s) to sign it.
1. Use the percentages for each of the weighted categories for your grade (homework, in-class performance and tests). Decide what percentage you want by the end of the quarter and how you'll achieve it. Describe your ACTION PLAN - needs to be observable: What, When (time & how often), Where and with Whom you will do.

Tarea:
1. Progress Report: Goal, Action Plan and Parent(s) Signature by Monday.
2. Finish your Irregular Preterite Verb Grid = the "J" group: Traer, Decir, Traducir (to translate), Conducir (to lead, conduct, drive)
3. Finish your 3A Flash Cards (#s 47-68)
