El español IV - el 08 de marzo de 2013
1. Complete the In-class
Performance Check-in handout. This
talks about the how you’re doing on the criteria for your weekly point. The two
goals at the bottom are what you plan to do by the end of the quarter (April 11
– but remember that we have a week off from spring break).
NOTE: We’ll go over the Analysis
of the interview on page 24 on Monday.
I’ve also decided to postpone the
test they were going to take today also to Monday – I hope won’t mind too
much (:>).
2. Go over the
questions in A. 23: Call on students to ask and then others to answer.
3. Repaso - Las leyendas: Las dos montañas. Use
my highlighted version to clarify vocabulary and meaning.
Note: We’ll play the review game of all of the readings
we’ve done in this lesson as a warm-up on Monday.
4. El pretérito versus El imperfecto. Text pages 27-29.
(A) Warm-up - The kids quickly jot down a few ideas
describing the drawing, working with a seat partner – and then called on a few
to share.
(B) Go over the 4
Study Points (diamantes - #4 is on page 28) – Main concepts.
(C) Students should review
the chart on page 28 and then working with a partner, write out Activity 29. I always
point out how funny it is that this is Actividad 29, on page 29 with 29
answers! Another version of the leyenda
de las dos montañas! Go over the answers with the kids when all are done –
having them justify WHY they are using the Preterite or the Imperfect.
(5) Returned
the Reacciones a los proyectos –
from El escudo personal, charla #1.
(6) Once done with Act. 29, distributed the scissors and the
kids cut their reactions apart into
individual strips and distributed the individual reactions to the
speakers.
(7) Eloise
va a la escuela:
Homework/Tarea:
1. Distribute the Charla:
Un viaje en el pasado – we’ll
select presentation order and begin presenting on MONDAY.
2. Study for the Test
1A
3. Bring your analysis of the interview on page 24.
