  • Mr. Christensen presented a powerpoint to the class, with pictures of people, maps, and places.  In pairs, students described (in writing) the people, the weather, and the countries using personal whiteboards and dry erase markers.

  • Pelota de Práctica – reviewed conjugation of present tense verbs with Mr. Christensen throwing a ball to students.  Those who received the ball were required to conjugate a given verb according to the location of their thumb on the ball (subject pronouns were written all over the ball).  

  • Tarea:

  • Study for tomorrow’s test, using the study guides distributed yesterday.

  • Precaliento (warm-up)-Students were given a list of the 15 most common errors from last week’s poems.  They were then given a few minutes to correct these errors on their own.  We then went over them as a class.

  • Reviewed the use of “llamarse” and “gustar” along with their differences in Spanish

  • Reviewed Seasons of the year in Spanish, brainstorming (as a class) the weather, holidays, and activities (including sports) that occur in each season.

  • In pairs, students completed Text p. 11, Act 18, quizzing one another on the activities that one would generally enjoy in each season.

  • Students received performance reports, and were assigned the task of coming up with a strategy for future success (outlined in handout).

  • Tarea:

  • Students were to return (by Wednesday), the grade handouts and success strategies, signed by them and their parents

  • Study for Thursday’s test (on Para Empezar), the first unit of study in the book
