Spanish IV 11-30-07

Spanish IV 11-30-07

  • I collected the two activities prepared as homework.
  • We participated in a Psychology experiment for the first few minutes of class.
  • Lectura de laminas: using the teaching sheets from Mexico, we read about various topic having to do with geographic features as well as their flora and fauna.
  • While students were reading, they were to chart KEY WORDS as: (1) Cognates (2) New Words (3) Your best guess of the new word’s meaning – based on the context. The 4th column is to be completed as homework: The REAL meaning of the new word.
  • We reviewed the homework: many students had done it incorrectly – I returned the assignment and we went over examples of how it ought to be done. I was pleased by the few students who had done quality work, but also disheartened by the amount of students who hadn’t. Students have the opportunity to redo this for Tuesday.
  • We were able to watch about 15 minutes more of Selena.
  • Tarea:
    1. Look up the meanings of the words you guessed the meanings for during the Lectura de Láminas today.
    2. Read about the efforts to mitigate the air pollution in Mexico, DF, on page 68 AND write 5 comprehension questions (en español) to be posed to your classmates.
    3. If need be, REDO Activity 34 – being careful about the quality of your work, please.
