El español IV - el 26 de abril de 2013



I was at the U of O with the students at Foreign Language - International Studies Day.  Here is an outline of the plans I left for your sub:
I. Vocabulary/Communication Practice:
Read the article on page 59 aloud with a seat partner –
WRITE out answers to the questions in Act. 2-21, pg. 61 and also write out the cognates for Act. 2-22. Write out answers for the questions in Act. 2-23

II. Homework Review (10 mins)
1   Workbook pg. 46, Act. 2-10
2    Text pp. 61 & 62, Act. 2-24 & 2-25

III.  Text Type Analysis (20-25 mins): Students change partners -  “Baile flamenco” partner
1  Hand out:“El manual de estilos de texto” – Students read the attached article using the guide to notice the elements of an expository text.
     Find these elements in the EL CENTINELA article from pg 59 in the text book?
3     Handout - article, “Limpie su casa naturalmente” – partners read this aloud and then analyze it according to the text type guide in “el manual de estilos de texto” – marking the article to indicate their analysis.

IV. MOVIE!  This class has about 20-25 minutes more to finish The Incredibles! Set-up: Spanish Language with Spanish Subtitles.  

Tarea:  Write out sentences using 20 of the vocabulary words, and then translate them to English.  This doesn’t have to be 20 separate sentences if they can combine words in a meaningful way in the same sentence.  Ask them to UNDERLINE and NUMBER their vocabulary words in the Spanish sentences.
