Page 11: CUIDADO - Watch out for these "tricksters" for English-Speakers learning Spanish: Solo vs. Sólo; Darse cuenta de (que) vs. Realizar. Block 1 practiced these with Act. 5, pg. 12

El pretérito:
  • Activity 1-4, WB29
  • Reviewed the guidelines for MONDAY'S QUIZ: Using the preterite with the verbs of the chapter.
  • We reviewed the meanings of the chapter's verbs - see the two lists in your vocabulary packet. We added Asustarse, Disfrazarse, Vestirse with their English equivalents to the first list of verbs in English. Double check the Spanish list farther back in the packet against the English one.
  • Went over the criteria of the HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT - last page of the vocabulary packet.
  • NEW (pink) Preterite Packet - we went through all of the study notes about irregulars and spelling changes.
Los chistes:
  • Students shared their chistes in NEW groups of 4.
  • One person from each group shared a chiste with the rest of the class. Qué gracioso y divertido!
La abeja haragana:
  • In our NEW groups of 4, students real aloud part II of the story to each other.
  • If your group had time, they reviewed last night's homework.
Tarea:
1. STUDY! Monday's Preterite Test/Chapter Verb Meanings. You could practice conjugation on conjuguemos.com
2. Select 10 of the verbs listed in the pack of your vocab. packet. Write a sentence in the preterite for each one and then translate it to English.
3. La abeja haragana - Write out answers to Comprendió Ud.? - part II (#s 14-22); Finish the Palabras claves (II - 3s 9-14) and the El infinitivo (II #s 7-10)
