1.Taught how to express age in Spanish
(A) Shared photos of me at various ages with captions saying how old I was at that time:
Tengo _#_ años = "I am _#_ years old"
(B) Expanded it to others -
Tienes _#_ años = "You are _#_ years old"
El/Ella tiene _#_ años = He/She is _#_ years old"
(C) Ask the question, "How old are you?" ¿Cuántos años tienes?

2. Modeled and taught how to ask and say where one is from:
(A) ¿De dónde eres? = Where are you from?
(B) Soy de ___Eugene__ = I am from __Eugene__. __.

3. Review of what we've covered by means of basic conversational questions:
1. Cómo te llamas - de verdad? - en la clase de español?
2. Cuántos años tienes
3. De dónde eres?
4. Qué te gusta hacer?
5. Cómo eres?


(A) Students wrote out their own answers to the questions.
(B) Students then surveyed up to 4 other students.
(C) Students then wrote 5 sentences about the information they discovered about others in class.
(D) I collected the surveys (encuesta).

4. I introduced the basic vocabulary to describe 3 generations of a family:
Abuelos, Padres, Esposos, Hijos, Hermanos, Tíos, Primos, Nietos, Sobrinos - via a drawing of a traditional family tree. - See handout.

5. Reviewed, and expanded, personal descriptive adjectives - green handout.

6. TAREA: Family picture book prewrite handout - Filling in information the is relevant to YOUR family. We had 15 minutes to get started on this in class, and it is to be completed for class tomorrow.
