New Unit 4 vocabulary and grammar overview packet (azul) - students filled in the meanings of the words on the vocabulary lists for 4A & 4B while I checked-in their 4A Projects, due today.
4A is review, while Vocabulary 4B is new.

I also gave some notes over additional terms:
El día festivo = el día feriado
El/la bebé = el nene/la nena
Charlar = platicar (en México)
Había = "Hay" in the past
Había una vez/Erase una vez = "Once upon a time..."

I "previewed"/introduced the topics and structures of lesson 4B:
A) Using the PLURAL REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS for Reciprocal Actions
B) Using the IMPERFECTO for the descriptive past
C) Using BOTH the PRETERITO and the IMPERFECTO together in the past.

Vocabulary in context practice:
Text pages 212-213 -Listening/Reading/Repeating

Preterite Versus Imperfecto:
We made a "T-Chart" listing examples of these verbs from page 213 and discussed WHY they were used and WHAT they would mean in English.
We used our TWO reference handouts: EL PRETERITO and EL IMPERFECTO

We watched the Video Historia (see pages 214-215) about a boy's trip to a Basque Festival and his childhood memories about attending the same festival.

Proyectos:
I divided the class into small groups and each member of the group shared his/her project with the others. Then they turned in their projects in a group set.

Tarea:
All of these practice using the vocabulary in context.
Activity 3 on page 215 = Answer the questions based on the Video Historia
Activity 4 on page 216 = Reading across the line, which word doesn't belong with the group?
Activity 6 on page 217 = Using the words in the purple edged boxes, read the sentences and fill-in the word that makes the most sense.
