Español II el 12 de junio de 2012

1. Warm-up sentences using Tú commands (affirmative and negative) giving directions/instructions around the town.
2. WAVA Listening Activities 5, 6 & 8 - Following directions/instructions.
3. WAVA Writing Activity 12 - Tú commands for a camp counselor to his/her campers.
4. Repaso - Reviewed the homework over Units 2 & 3.
5. Showed slides from my teenage trip to Guatemala.

Español II el 11 de junio de 2012

1. El chigarí: I read this story to the students who filled-in the missing words on their handout while practicing the Presente Progresivo Regular.  Then we compared our answers to the notes we took last week on our 3B lesson vocabulary and grammar overview packet and with the explanation on page 171.  We also practiced the Irregulares. Next we watched the Gram Activa "goofy grammar" DVD and did the "Quiz".

2. Direcciones - Practicing giving/following directions and tú commands.  Page 168 & our lesson overview handout.  We wrote out Actividad 16, pg. 168.

3. Reviewed the results on Test 4A.

4. Review for final - Tema 1/ Unit/Chapter 1A & 1B. We played the on-line review games (see other post).

Tarea:
Review handouts for Chapter 2A/2B and 3A/3B: fill-in the vocabulary meanings and give examples of the grammar.

Primera hora: Listened to and practiced the vocabulary in 3B - pp. 158-159.  We filled-in the GREEN Vocabulary Handout and did the verb practice on the backside of the first page.

BOTH CLASSES = Past tense Story Partner Project work time.  FINAL COPIES to be SHARED DURING CLASS TOMORROW.

Tarea:
1. Be ready to present and turn-in your project tomorrow.
2. Second Block - fill-in the GREEN Vocabulary Handout and do the verb practice on the backside of the first page.

1. Warm-up sentences - ?El subjuntivo o el indicativo?

2. Mandatos de Nosotros/as - See page 182 = We took notes over the 4 things to remember about how to form them.  Then we wrote out Actividad 33.  Next I shared the lyrics to the song, Escapémonos and afterwards we watched the video of Marc Anthony and Jennifer López singing it at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

3. Repaso - Tareas
(A) WB 56 + more práctica del vocabulario
(B) Partner surveys using the one from pg. 177 (two partners)
(C) Por versus Para - We corrected Ex. B and then started Ex. D.

4. "Stressed" Possesive Pronouns - "Long form" - Los míos, etc.  See page 184.

Tarea:
1. Finish Exercise D - Por versus Para packet.

4. Proyecto - Introduced the PARTNER PAST TENSE STORY PROJECT.  Main characters = 2 animals; 6 different Preterite Verbs (Main Actions) & 6 different Imperfecto verbs (Background, Feelings, Descriptions).  Today's goal: Pick your characters & LIST your verbs.
Tarea:
1. Each partner writes his/her OWN rough draft using the listed verbs from today's in-class work.
